Boys Team Tryouts 2010

Saturday, February 20th 2010 at 12:00 – 2:00pm

We are inviting boys 5-11 years old with a desire to be a part of our boys’ competitive gymnastics team program (Pre-Team and Level 4) at Elite Gymnastics Academy in Burnsville, MN. Spots are limited!

There will be no routines or special skills required to try out. We will be looking for coordination, strength and flexibility, as well as most importantly, a big interest in the sport of gymnastics!

Elite Gymnastics Academy is a USA Gymnastics Member’s club that follows the Junior Olympic Program. During the tryouts, our instructors will offer free evaluations and offer recommendations on where the child would be placed in our program. They will be looking for coordination skills as well as strength and flexibility.

What is Pre-Team and Level 4 at EGA?

• Pre-Team is an EGA non competitive program preparing young athletes for Level 4 USAG
• Level 4 is the entry level for the USAG Junior Olympic competitive program.
• Level 4 is more serious and intense than recreational gymnastics. It takes dedication from the parent and the athlete to be at practice 90% of the time. It also takes commitment to many hours of training, as competitive gymnastics is a year round sport.
• Boys will get an opportunity to compete in USAG sanctioned meets. The overall decision on how soon a gymnast is able to compete depends on the skill level, age, and how well the child performs the routines.
