High School Gymnastics Program

This program is for high school students that are currently in or interested in a high school gymnastics program. Students will work to improve their skills and become better gymnasts through refinement of current skills, development of new skills and personalized choreographed floor and beam routines.

Alexandr Balakirev

EGA Head Coach - Men's Gymnastics Program

Elite Level Artistic Gymnastics coach with more than 35 years of International, Regional and State level experience. Ten years of head coaching responsibilities in the United States including curriculum development and club management for competitive and recreational programs.

Valentina Balakireva

Gymnastics Burnsville Elite Level Artistic Gymnastics Coach and Choreographer. Renowned success as a coach at the local, state, national and international competitive gymnastics levels. Over 35 years of experience in Russian style coaching and training from beginning skill levels through elite. A coach with a strong emphasis on technique and safety.

Mariya Balakireva

Pre-School Gymnastics, Tots GymnasticsAs a former Competitive Gymnast, she has translated her experience into a successful coaching career in youth gymnastics. Her focus on coaching has been with pre-school through high school levels of gymnastics.

Her coaching technique is structured in the Russian style with a strong emphasis on solid technique and safety.

Quinn Schwiesow

Former USAG Competitive Gymnast. USAG Professional Member and Safety Certificatied.

Two time Minnesota State Pommel Horse Champion. Coaching experience in Twin Cities clubs since 2003. Venture Scout through B.S.A.

Andrea Magnuson

Andrea “Andy” Magnuson. Andy started gymnastics at age 3 and actively practiced for 15 years. She started coaching in 2003, at age 14, and has experience in levels Pre-school through USAG 10 and ages 18 months to 18 years.

Julie Abler

Julie competed USA gymnastics through level nine. She qualified for and competed in USAGC Nationals her senior year of high school. She actually missed graduation to attend this competition :) She went on to compete in Div. III College for the University of Wisconsin LaCrosse where she received All-conference Honors, a four-year letter, and became a two time National Team Champion in 1995 and 1997.

Kristen Drufke

Kristen started gymnastics at age 9. She competed in USAG level 5-9 as well as USAIGC in the Intermediate Optional level (level 8 equivalent). She competed for Richfield Gymnastics Academy for level 5-6 and at Mini-Hops Gymnastics for level 7-9. Her favorite event as a gymnast was Vault. The highlight of Kristen's gymnastics career was at the 1998 USAIGC Nationals where she qualified to the National Finals.

Valentyna Maltseva

Valya (vall-ee-YUH) joins us from Mariupol, Donetska Region, Ukraine. She is a highly decorated former competitive rhythmic gymnast. Valya is a member of the National Judging Category of Ukraine, and she has a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education as well as a Master of Sport in Rhythmic Gymnastics, the highest in achievements for any sport in Soviet countries.

Valentina has prepared many prizewinning and champion athletes of city, region and Ukraine Republic competitions. 10 of her former athletes were given an invitation to World-famous rhythmic gymnastics school; Derugina’s School in the capital of Ukraine, Kiev to further develop their career as an international level athlete, all of which competed as members of the National Rhythmic Gymnastics Team of Ukraine.
