Mariya Balakireva

Pre-School Gymnastics, Tots GymnasticsAs a former Competitive Gymnast, she has translated her experience into a successful coaching career in youth gymnastics. Her focus on coaching has been with pre-school through high school levels of gymnastics.

Her coaching technique is structured in the Russian style with a strong emphasis on solid technique and safety.

  • 2002-2007: Dance Curriculum, Community College of Southern Nevada
  • Current:  USA Gymnastics National Safety Certification - certified through 2010


COACHING EXPERIENCE

  • 1998-2000:  Volunteer Pre-school coaching at International Gymnastics Training Center, formally in Woodbury, MN
  • 2000-2002: Volunteer coaching recreational classes at American Elite Gymnastics, Bloomington, MN
  • 2002- Present:  Director of Pre-school and recreational programs, Main Supervisor on Birthday Party events and Open Gym events.  Main Choreographer for Floor routines and Competitive Team Assistant Coach


COACHING ACHIEVEMENTS

  • Choreographer - Ashley Ruiz- level 8, 2004, fourth place Floor Routine - Regional competition
  • Choreographer  - Philadelphia High School floor and optional beam routines
  • 10-12 floor routines have been performed during competition seasons
